clarke2Arthur C. Clarke (December 16, 1917 – March 19, 2008) was a British science fiction writer, futurist, and inventor who passionately championed the value of scientific exploration. Clarke is often referred to as one of the "Big Three" major authors of science fiction, along with Robert A. Heinlein and Isaac Asimov. Among his most well-known works is 2001: A Space Odyssey, which was concurrently developed with Stanley Kubrick's film version and published soon after the release of the film.

Part-residence, part-art installation, Poland's "Keret House" has opened after three years of construction, becoming home to Israeli writer Etgar Keret. The building was inserted between two houses on Chlodna Street in Warsaw, after architect Jakub Szczesny of Centrala was inspired by the juxtaposition of their pre- and post-war origins.

Though Hemingway is associated with a number of drinks, and drinking in general, the mojito was a particular favorite of his, as it was invented at La Bodeguita del Medio in Havana, Cuba, where he drank them in large quantity.
