The Silence of Dogs in Cars is a photo series by Martin Usbourne, a London-based artist who recalls a moment in his childhood of being left alone in the car while his parents ran errands, and wondering if they would ever return. "The details don't matter. the point is that I wondered if anyone would come back. the fear I felt was strong: in a child's mind it is possible to be alone forever," says Usbourne. The Silence of Dogs invokes a similar sense of the unknown between a pet and his owner, and the impossibility of communicating a sense of security to animal who depends so completely on their human. I'm experiencing a lot of emotions right now.
