Photographer Alastair Philip Wiper travels to France to capture the ethereal charm of Avoriaz, a skiing resort built in the French Alps during the 1960s. Wiper himself lived in the resort for five years and says that he was immediately drawn to the resort's aura of moody darkness, a feeling which reminded the photographer of The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari. Currently, architectural considerations to Avoriaz belong to the orginial architect, Jacques Labro, and Simon Cloutier, once a ski bum, who returned to the resort in order to work on its development.
