There's no better architectural crush than a good church conversion, like this one in San Francisco's Mission Dolores Park. Although new floors were added and stain glass windows were restored, you can definitely notice the church elements, like intricately detailed ceilings, beautiful arches, long and dramatic hallways, and some great lighting. The main hall is enormous and reminds me of the spacious doom of The Shining, but in a good way.
