Pete Eckert calls himself a "blind visual artist". Ever since he was a child, Eckert has been interested in art. When he started to go blind in adulthood, he didn't want to give it up, so he didn't.

Now, Pete simply relies on his other senses to help him complete his projects, especially sound. Pete is accompanied by his guide dog, Clancy, who never leaves his side. In 2008, Pete won the Artists Wanted international photography contest, which led to a gallery show of Eckert's "temporary and ethereal" subjects.
