George Orwell (June 25, 1903 – January 21, 1950) was an Indian-born English writer and journalist. He is best known for his novels 1984 (1949) and Animal Farm (1945), both written at the end of his life. His work is marked by a sharp-wit and a keen awareness of social injustice. Orwell was deeply influenced by what he witnessed of British colonialism while serving in the Indian Imperial Police Force in Burma. He also sustained injuries fighting against Francisco Franco during the Spanish Civil War. Orwell was an outspoken socialist and though his life was short, his work was recognized during his lifetime as some of the greatest of the 20th century.

Ray and his brother Dave founded the band when they were 18 and 16, respectively, in their childhood London home. During his time in The Kinks, Davies wrote many of the band's major hits, including "You Really Got Me", "Lola", "Come Dancing" and "All Day and All of the Night." The Kinks split up in 1996 and Davies continues to perform as a solo artist.

Moe Howard ( June 19, 1897– May 4, 1975) was an American actor and comedian who became known as the leader of the legendary comedy team The Three Stooges. Moe was known for his trademark 'helmet hair' bowl cut, which he first unveiled as a young child, unhappy with his shoulder-length hair. Over the course of their long career, the Stooges would make nearly 200 short films by 1975, and Moe himself would appear in more than 250 films in his lifetime. Moe's signature character in the majority of his appearances was a hot-tempered bully who provided slapstick violence and fighting.
