These delicate newspaper carvings from Canadian artist Myriam Dion are an incredible approach to lacework, using newspaper as the artist's medium. The paper's design elements and photographs are sometimes left in tact, as with the brightly covered women in this particular edition of The Financial Times and incorporated into each 'sculpture' so that a simple daily paper becomes a gorgeous piece of art that looks quite natural. Dion makes each intricate cut by hand, which is incredibly impressive considering that there is much more cut away than preserved. In fact, each gorgeous piece give me arthritis just thinking about it!
