The Palace of Versailles, founded in 1624, has entered the 21st century by launching a website in collaboration with the Google Cultural Institute. The site gives viewers an in–depth and interactive tour of the palace grounds, complete with ample historical context. From Louis XIII to after the French Revolution, Versailles underwent colossal physical and social changes that made it the Republican Palace and tribute to French history it is today.
In 1919, the signing of the Treaty of Versailles marked the end of World War I. Since then, the palace has undergone decades of careful restoration, which continue today. The palace has launched Versailles 3D and From Chaos to Perfection, to show viewers "Five centuries of creation."
