It's officially time for Mardi Gras, a day when we celebrate festivities, food and of course, carnivals!
The history of Mardi Gras goes back to March of 1699. A group of French Catholics entered through the Mississippi River and traveled the South, looking for regions to claim as French territories. The expedition settled in what would become New Orleans. Mardi Gras, also known as Fat Tuesday, is the day when we stuff our faces with rich, filling and decadent foods in preparation for Lent. Even though not many of us fast these days, there's no excuse not to have a huge celebration with the delicious recipes we've collected for you. Happy Mardi Gras!
