This house looks just like something that a child would draw when imagining their dream house. Except architecture firm Bohlin Cywinski Jackson actually built it. The Combs Point Residence, located in the New York Finger Lakes region, spans from delta to forest and allows for it's residents to be surrounded by nature from every angle. It's no wonder the firm won six different awards for this abode.
The house begins with a breathtaking view of the lakes, and crawls inwards through the land to face the forest. The question of who gets that waterside room must be quite a fight-starter.
The interiors are just what you'd expect from the best of modernism - even though it's surrounded by the great outdoors, the home itself is clean, polished and perfect.
"Look, ma, on this side of the house it's snowing!" This dreamhouse makes for a picturesque getaway at any time of year.
Some preliminary sketches of how it would look. Their resemblance to the final product is fantastic. Good job, BCJ!
